Association of pregestational obesity with anemia during pregnancy: A literature review

Relevance: Оbеse pregnant women have а mild inflammatory response associated with hepcidin overexpression. Inflammation affects iron metabolism by increasing levels. Obesity and anemia are serious problems worldwide; expectant mothers often suffer from these conditions. Gravidas obesity tend to gain more weight during pregnancy than gravidas normal body mass index. before is a high risk in pregnancy, including hypoferremia due deficiency, which already common between mother their neonates. This review considers obesity-associated mediator activation as potential primary cause of deficiency (ID) or (IDA) obese women.The aimed summarize the current studies reporting measurement molecular markers mediators pregestational obesity. The literature search was performed Medline, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar, PubMed, CyberLeninka databases following keywords: “pregnancy,” “iron deficiency,” “anemia,” “overweight,” “obesity,” “inflammation,” “body index.”Results: assesses whether obesity-induced inflammation may contribute increased incidence ID/IDA women.
